Advent Program/Lesson Suggestions
Program Description: Star Chasers is a beautifully
illustrated CD-ROM storybook that tells the story of Advent
using some very cool video and animation sequences, plus some
beautiful watercolor story pages. The main part of the program tells the
story of three siblings who suddenly find themselves in the middle
of the search for the Christ child. Your kids enter their home, meet the
three siblings and are mysteriously transported with them into
the Advent story. The siblings narrate each screen page in the
story and there are interactive elements. Students can follow
one of three siblings through the story. They meet the Wisemen,
Shepherds, prophetess Anna and prophet Simeon. This is a warm,
beautiful and creative retelling of the story.
While moving through
the story, your kids will be quizzed along the way to test recall of content. After the story, there's
a completely separate area to explore with related content, including
a 3-D tour of the Jerusalem Temple and its practices in the
time of Jesus, narrated by the young girl from the main story.
Star Chasers flew off our shelves last Christmas ...and for good
reason. We know of churches who have used this CD for a Christmas
in July lesson. One even built their Vacation Bible School around
Star Chasers and had a great time.

Star Chasers
has plenty to do and see in it, but it isn't "point/click/point/click."
This is a storybook. Kids tend to get very calm, even mesmerized
as they move deeper into the story. Turn down the lights and
enjoy.
