Neil's notes on the program: This program is FUN to use --other printshop-type programs could learn a thing or two from Spiritual Expressions! I particularly like its artsy, whimsical, high quality handrawn art --the kind you would expect from American Greetings, Shoebox Greetings, Hallmark and the like. This is NOT "church-clip-arty." ...And there's a ton of CHRISTIAN artwork to choose from, ...an impressive quantity and style.
The whole program is set up to make stuff FAST and easy. Choose a project template (ready-made layout), choose a background or artwork, add your own text, then print. Having a color printer is a MUST. You can type in any font or font size. And if you want to take your time making something unique, you can. If you want to get fancy you can add your own artwork. You can also export the artwork to other programs. The first graphic on this webpage is a composite I put together and exported to this page.
I think it makes a nice complement to Kid Pix 3 -the popular creative writing/illustrating CD in our catalog. This program has now gone outof print, as Broderbund shuffles its product line. We half-expect it will be back in print late Fall or early 2005. A new company is taking over this line of products for them.
Spiritual Expressions has been particularly popular among those who like to have their students CREATE things on the computer.
PRINTING TIP #1: If you want higher quality print-outs than your color inkjet can give you, select "print to file" in your printer options and give that file to your local print company.
PRINTING TIP #2: Change your print SETUP in the Spiritual Expressions print panel to DRAFT mode to save on ink. Then switch it back to full/normal print for your final copy.

Fan testimonial: I picked up Spiritual Expressions last fall because I needed a software package with decent graphics that would let me make postcards easily. It is nearly all I use these days. I send postcards to the committees I work with most and get "oohs" and "ahs" because they are in color and I can usually match seasons or themes with the graphics.
