June
2011 we issued a slightly UPDATED VERSION 1.1 of Faith Through
the Roof CD.
It's free and you can
download it HERE. It's
about 13mb.
If your original CD's label says "v1.1"
then you already have the updates.
What's Updated:
The update does several things:
- It makes it easier for kids to pick up the
stretcher and access the hole in the roof
- It make finding Stephen in the village a little
easier
- It improves the playback of the two video clips
in the game.
Handling and Installing the Download:
This Download is a 14 mb compressed "zip" file.
- You need to download the zip file ...saving it
to your desktop. Download it HERE.
Once downloaded, if needed, you can copy it to
a USB flashdrive or CD and bring to another computer where you
might have the original Faith through the Roof program
installed.
- Once you have downloaded the zip file, you'll
need to double-click the faithv1.1update.zip file to open it
(aka 'unzip' or 'extract' it).
- When you unzip it, a file dialog box will give
you the option to unzip the files into a folder. You need to POINT the
unzip/extraction process to the folder where you already have
Faith Through the Roof installed on your harddrive. It's
probably at c:\programs\faith but may be at c:\faith. Look
and be sure.
This
will copy over several of the files in the game's folder. If the
unzipping utility asks you if it is "okay" to copy/replace,
click "yes."
That's it. The game will now start with
your previously installed desktop icon!
If you are unfamiliar with this process, ask
someone to help you.
Here is a snapshot of the UPDATE FILES you are downloading and
unzipping into your installed 'faith' folder:

If
you are having problems running this game and contact me for
help...
I will probably ask you to
give me your computer's "DirectX Diagnostics Report".
This report is easy to generate and will tell me A LOT about
your system's capabilities. It will also help me look up your
videochip and drivers and allow me to give you an expert opinion rather than
a guess.
To create the DXDIAG report, do
this:
In
XP, Click the Windows Start button and type the letters
DXDIAG in the RUN field. This will start DirectX
Diagnostics program.
In VISTA and
Windows 7, Click the Windows Start button, and type the letters
DXDIAG in the SEARCH field. This will make the link dxdiag.exe
appear above. Click that link to start the diagnostics program.
Once DirectX
Diagnostics starts up, click the SAVE ALL INFORMATION button.
This will create a dxdiag.txt file.
EMAIL ME that text file. If
the computer you're at doesn't have email, copy that text file
and take it to a computer which does have email.
Short of that
information, we're merely guessing about your computer.
