How to Create a Matching Quiz using Cal & Marty's Scripture Memory Game CD

1. Open up the Verse Editor in the Cal & Marty program.

2. Select 'Create New Verse'

3. Select "Add New"
Begin typing your pairs of words strong together as if in a sentence. AS you do it, add a number and a set of ... dots in front of the first word in each pair. Also add a comma , at the end of the second word in each pair. Why? Because Cal & Marty was designed for sentences. Normally you would know which was the first word in a sentence, second, and so on. But your matching pairs have no logical location in the "sentence" you are creating. So your numbers alert the student to which pair needs to be where in the sentence. And IF you don't connect the number to the first word in the pair, the game code will treat the number and first word as two separate things. Confused? This is a workaround! to adapt the game to matching quizzes. Just do it, play it, and you'll see why.

4. After typing the set: Save/Close and go back into the game and select your matching set to play.

Pair possibilities:
Book of the Bible - Story in that Book. Example: 1...Genesis Creation,
Book of the Bible -- Character found in that Book. Example: 1...1stSamuel KingSaul,
Famous Characters who appear in the same story Example: 1...Jesus Zaccheus,
Here's a 3 piece 'matching" with clues --Famous Persons & Objects
1...Job:Prophet, Person:Elijah, Object:Chariot,

Notice again I've had to use the numbers and dots, and remove 'spaces' to keep some things together, otherwise the game will see them as separate words. So for example, I've typed KingSaul" without a space to keep King and Saul together during the SCRAMBLING PHASE of the game.
