Sunday Software's Support Page for the Ilumina Bible CD/DVD
(including an important installation note)
Please note: this page is for our customers who have purchased one of two versions of Ilumina from us, either the "Gold Premium Edition" or the newer "Ilumina Bible DVD" (which is the Gold Premium edition with some tweaks, repackaged, and re-released October 2010 under the simple original name "Ilumina Bible").
We cannot respond to requests about the original version of Ilumina Bible CD, Ilumina "silver", Ilumina Gold, Ilumina Parent-Teacher edition, or any of the various Ilumina updaters or "unlock" versions of Ilumina. For help with those, go to ilumina.com. (That said, these notes may help.)
Yes, Ilumina has come out in many editions over the years! And not all of them will run on today's operating systems. We sell only the latest full version of Ilumina. When viewing screens in the Ilumina program, you might see misleading copyright dates or name left over from the developer's continual updating of the program. For example, the Ilumina Gold Premium DVD's exit screen still has the copyright of 2006, even though the program has been updated several times since. No worry!

Notes on "The Ilumina Bible DVD" ...released October 2010 on DVD.
This is the full edition of their latest version, previously known as the "Gold Premium" edition. The publisher decided to repackage and simplify the name. They also added some tweaks and new installation/liner notes. The Gold Premium edition used to come with the DVD --and copies of the program on CDs as well for those who didn't have DVD enabled CD drives on their computer. 99% of all computers made in the last 5 years have DVD capable CD drivers, so you should have no problem running this DVD.
(1) When you view this program on the screen, you will notice that the title page STILL calls it the "Gold Premium" Edition.
Ilumina Bible DVD = Ilumina Gold Premium Edition CDs/DVD
(2) When the program opens, you'll notice a "parent-teacher's" edition screen flash on your computer screen. Don't know why they didn't get rid of that. It's an artifact leftover from a previous edition's installer. Therefore, the following comments ALSO APPLY to the Gold Premium Edition.
(3) If you have Vista or Windows 7, you MUST INSTALL the latest free version of Quicktime in order for all the media to work in Ilumina. Download it at www.quicktime.com Yes, it's from Apple. Download the Windows version. There is a copy of Quicktime 7 on the Ilumina DVD, however, it is not the very latest version with all the latest tweaks. (Apple updates it all the time to stamp out issues).
(4) If you have XP, the latest version of Quicktime will work on it as well and should be downloaded to avoid compatibility problems.
(5) IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE
Ilumina can be run from the DVD, --or it can be completely installed so you don't need the DVD anymore.
To do the complete installation, however, you may need to "open" the files on the DVD to run the installer manually.
Why? Because some computers will think you've put a movie DVD in the drive and attempt to "autoplay" Ilumina rather than run the installer. (This has to do with your computer's configuration, not Ilumina).
When you put the DVD in your CD drive, your computer will most likely open an "autoplay" screen. What happens when you first insert the DVD may depend on your operating system version and how you have your DVD settings configured on your computer. Some computers will offer you the autoplay screen seen here in the graphic on the right. If so, click OPEN FOLDER to view files then select SETUP.exe to do a full installation. If you select autorun.exe, it will run Ilumina off of the DVD (which is slow) and not install the program.
We recommend doing a FULL INSTALL so you don't need to have the DVD in your drive to use the program, Works much faster that way too!
(6) SCREEN RESOLUTION NOTE
When you first run Ilumina, it may prompt you to change your screen resolution to better match Ilumina's 'native' resolution (the screen proportions and size best suited to Ilumina's text). See the graphic below for what that prompt may look like....
If you have a high resolution monitor or a wide aspect monitor, Ilumina may not appear to fill the screen, or the text may appear too small for your tastes. To correct this, open your Windows Display Properties in your Windows Control Panel and slide your resolution slider down to a lower screen resolution. Ilumina's native (best) resolution is 1024x768. See which one works best for YOUR computer.
(7) Working with the My Lessons Module
Once you create a Teacher's/Admin password, you need to write it down somewhere! There's no way to recover it or get past it without uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program. You CAN select to turn off the student password feature so that students can view their results.

(9) For all other program helps and technical helps, click the HELP *?* ICON on the Ilumina screen.
This will load the help files in your internet browser (they are installed on your computer, not on the net). If you get an ACTIVE X error message in your browser, go ahead and LET the Active X control run. It's safe.
