God
is really excited to explain the entire Christmas story.
God invites Fluffy on a journey through the Old Testament Prophets, through the concept of Messiah, the announcement by Angels, the visit of Mary to Elizabeth, the trip to Bethlehem, the Birth according to Luke 2, the announcement to the Shepherds, and the story of Herod and the Magi.
God appears as a lightning bolt-filled cloud bursting with things to say. God narrates, animates, adds interactive tidbits, provides pop-up texts and buttons, background info, humorous quips, and questions to poor little Fluffy throughout the CD. It's all quite animated and interactive. God spared no expense! We designed this CD so that students could use it several Advents in a row without repeating content. The navigation and menus give you extensive control so you can pick and choose your way through the content, or pick through several sections for one lesson. Within each area, students are lead by God through the content, but navigational options pop up along the way allowing you to skip certain parts of the story if you want. Don't let
the name fool you... And yes....this CD makes a wonderful gift to children for home use too!
Overview: Fluffy & God' Christmas CD has 5 major areas, each deep in animation and activities:
Each section is detailed below on this page, and you can see even more detail by viewing the printable Fluffy Outline and Teaching Tips. A sixth area called "DJ FLUFFY JAM" is a Christmas hymn machine that lets kids create their own version of two traditional Christmas hymns. See more details below. Throughout the CD... God tells poor Fluffy far more than "just the facts" of the Christmas story. God explains WHY he wanted to bring the Messiah into the world, what the people's response was, and should be. God encourages students to celebrate Christmas with deeper meaning. God's narrations are fully animated and include quite a bit of humor. Fluffy is the comic foil. Each of the five main areas is a self-contained unit with introductory story material, background notes and learning activities, including reflection activities. Typically, a Sunday School class might try to do TWO of the areas each year. Each of the areas can take between 15 and 25 minutes to complete, depending on the area, and how well the teacher manages the students through the content (rather than letting them race through it). You could explore one or two of the CD's areas this year with each grade -rotating them in to use Fluffy. Or you could have one class spend several weeks in a row -exploring all Fluffy has to offer. Fluffy is also popular as a gift, and because it's fun and interactive, the kids enjoy getting it out each year to reacquaint themselves with the story and Fluffy.

Fluffy Section Highlights: Fluffy has 6 learning areas.... The Old Testament Prophets section, titled "Promises Promises" in this CD has enough learning activities in it for your first year all by itself. It's by far the largest section with interactive and animated material on the Prophet's hope for a messiah, the meaning of the word messiah, and how you too can be a prophet. (We really felt this was an often over-looked part of Advent teaching). God explains what a prophet is, what they're message was about the Messiah. God talks about the problems Israel had with its Kings, and even provides a matching game for some of the more famous Kings. There's an interactive "Jesse Tree" showing Jesus' relations (and has a spot for the student's name). It can be filled out onscreen and printed as a take home, or printed for later use. View a graphic showing some of the interactive menus and activities available in "Promises, Promises." |

Yo! Mary & JoeGod has a little fun with poor Fluffy in YO! Mary & Joe when he decides to let Fluffy be the angel announcing the birth. Of course, Matthew and Luke each treat the angel's announcement differently, and God explains that to Fluffy in a humorous way. Tucked inside Yo! is Mary Visits Elizabeth and a fun animation about their meeting, and John & Jesus' meeting. In this area your students will also have the opportunity to express their "joy" about Christmas just like Mary did in her song, -by creating their own version of Mary's Song of Joy, --which considers the reasons why John the baby baptist boy was excited in his mom's tummy by the coming birth of Jesus.

3. On the Road to Bethlehem On the Road to Bethlehem is a short transitional area which introduces "why Bethlehem?". Several billboards pop up as Fluffy makes her way down the road. Ever seen a sheep riding a donkey? You will.

The Birth of Jesus
When Fluffy gets to Bethlehem for The Birth of Jesus, she can tour The Bethlehem House to learn what the "inn" and setting of Jesus' birth (in a family's guestroom) was probably like. She can also do the Super Jesus Fluffimation, or visit Luke 2 Theater for "Birth of Jesus -The Movie," a fun presentation of Luke 2 scripture. Learn what a "Fluffimation" is below...

5.
Shepherd's NightAfter visiting Bethlehem... Fluffy can pop over to the Shepherd's field and learn about God's exciting invitation to welcome the Christ child. If she wants to visit the baby Jesus, she
must take The Shepherds
Quiz.
If she gets at least 8 out of 10 questions correct in the Shepherds Quiz, she is invited to go visit the Baby Jesus. Once inside the house, the characters gathered there "ponder" several important questions about what it all means. This is a great place to stop with built-in reflection questions. ![]() |

6. Following Yonder
Star The Last Stop on the road is Following Yonder Star --the Magi's Observatory.
Among other things, it addresses:
There's even a fun game called "Fluffy vs Herod." When students win the game, they discover several questions to consider. Note: This section received the most enhancements in version 1.2.

About the "Fluffimation"
activities found throughout this CD... Fluffimations are interactive reflection activities scattered throughout the CD. They are high-tech "mad-lib-like" activities in which your students follow onscreen prompts to input their own words and concepts. Their words are then inserted into a script we've written which is spoken aloud by Fluffy. In one Fluffimation, the kids provide Fluffy with new words to insert into Mary's Song of Joy. In another they help Fluffy rephrase Isaiah 9 (the "wonderful counselor" passage). In another Fluffimation, they help describe the messiah in super-hero terms, --which challenges your students to think about the concept of the Messiah and his powers. The results
are fresh, usually quite thought-provoking, and often humorous
as Fluffy tries to speak certain words. All the Fluffimations in this CD are designed to create discussion between students as they complete the fill-ins, and to be played for each other and the teacher -creating more discussion! Because students can keep changing their input into the Fluffimations, the results are always new. Young children will need help with creating the Fluffimations, but will enjoy hearing "their words" spoken by Fluffy. After your
journey, Fluffy and your kids can play the carol game:
DJ FLUFFY JAM.
We've taken two familiar Christmas hymns
and given your students a set of tools to select new lyrics,
instruments and sound effects. The results are fun, never the same
twice, and can be quite though provoking.
Notes for Teachers:
Age Notes: To save your budget, we've purposely designed Fluffy with content that will work across a wide age range. Thus, younger children will need some navigational and reading help. Older students will appreciate the humor throughout the CD, and we've salted in extra content for them (or for the teacher). Our Fluffy Worksheets help keep students accountable for content. Read our Fluffy Outline and Teaching Tips for more information about teaching with Fluffy. |
