God invites Fluffy on a journey through the Old Testament Prophets, through the concept of Messiah, the announcement by Angels, the visit of Mary to Elizabeth, the trip to Bethlehem, the Birth, the announcement to the Shepherds, and visit by the Magi.

Fluffy is an animated sheep. And quite frankly, she'd like to hear the story in a little less detail, ...but you know God. God appears as a lightning bolt-filled cloud bursting with things to say, and providing animation, interactive tidbits, details, background info, humorous quips,  and questions which just seem to spill-out all over little Fluffy throughout the CD. It's all animated and interactive. God spared no expense!

The CD is designed so that students can jump into the story at various points, -or skip certain parts of the story in order to concentrate on specific parts. Learning and reflection activities are found in each story section.

Christmas comes around every year, so we packed this CD with several different content areas and special re-usable activities so you can use this CD several Advents in a row with a wide age range.

Don't let the name fool you..."Fluffy" isn't just for young children!  We designed it so that even young teenagers will enjoy it. Several content pieces are particularly designed for the older crowd, and the younger crowd can enjoy them too with a little help.

Overview of Fluffy and God...
 

Fluffy & God CD has five major areas, each deep in animation and activities:

1.  "Promises Promises" ....Old Testament Prophets and Hope
2.  "Yo Mary and Joe" ....Mary, Joseph and the Angel
3.  Bethlehem and the Birth of Jesus
4.  Shepherd and Angels
5.  The Magi ...looking for Christ.

Throughout the CD God tells poor Fluffy far more than "just the facts" of the Christmas story. God explains WHY he wanted to bring the Messiah into the world, He encourages students to celebrate Christmas with deeper meaning. God's narrations are fully animated and include quite a bit of humor. Fluffy is the comic foil.

A sixth area called "DJ FLUFFY JAM" is a Christmas hymn machine that gets kids creating their own version of two traditional Christmas hymns. Fun, and ripe for discussion.

Each of the five main areas is a self-contained unit with introductory story material, background notes and learning activities, including reflection activities. Typically, a Sunday School class might try to do TWO of the areas each year. Each of the five units lasts between 15 and 20 minutes, depending on how much the teacher directs the students to the questions that are buried throughout each section.

Depending on the age of your children/youth, and how much time you have, you might do one area this week, or two. We have put some material in the CD specifically for older students to dig into.

Section Highlights:

The Old Testament Prophets section, titled "Promises Promises" in this CD, has enough learning activities in it for your first year all by itself. It's by far the largest section with interactive and animated material on the Prophet's hope for a messiah, the meaning of the word messiah, and how you too can be a prophet. (We really felt this was an often over-looked part of Advent teaching). View a graphic showing some of the interactive menus and activities in "Promises, Promises."

God has a little fun with poor Fluffy in YO! Joe & Mary when he decides to let Fluffy be the angel announcing the birth. In the Mary Visits Elizabeth section, your students will have the opportunity to express their "joy" about Christmas just like Mary did in her song, and consider the reason why John the baby baptist boy was excited in his mom's tummy by the coming birth of Jesus.

On the Road to Bethlehem is one of the funniest little pieces in this CD. Ever seen a sheep riding a donkey? You will in this CD.

When Fluffy gets to Bethlehem, she can tour "the Bethlehem House" to learn what the "inn" and setting of Jesus' birth (in a family's guestroom) was probably like. She can also do the Super Jesus Fluffimation, or visit Luke 2 Theater for "Birth of Jesus -The Movie," a fun presentation of Luke 2 scripture.

After visiting Bethlehem... Fluffy can pop over to the Shepherd's Field and learn about God's exciting invitation to welcome the Christ child. If she wants to visit the baby Jesus, she must take The Shepherds Quiz. If she gets at least 8 out of 10 questions correct in the Shepherds Quiz, she is invited to go visit the Baby Jesus. Once inside the house, the characters gathered there "ponder" several important questions. (Shepherds Quiz is new in version 1.2 and the visit with Baby Jesus was enhanced.)

Further down the road is "Following Yonder Star" --the Magi's Observatory. The Observatory is another one of those learning areas that's a complete lesson unto itself for what ever year you want to stop in and go through all its interactive learning materials. What did the Magi do? What is a Magi? Who was Herod? What's Frankincense and Myrrh and why did the Magi give them to Jesus? What gifts does Jesus want? There's even a fun game called "Fluffy vs Herod." When students win the game, they discover several questions to consider. Following Yonder Star received the most enhancements in version 1.2.

Fluffimations help your kids reflect on the meaning of the story...
Scattered throughout the six learning areas are "Fluffi-mations." These are high-tech mad-lib-like activities in which your students are prompted to rephrase certain key words and passages in the Christmas story with their own thoughts and vocabulary.

Student supplied texts are put into the scripture verses which are then spoken aloud by Fluffy onscreen (enhanced in version 1.2) The results are fresh, usually quite thought-provoking, and often humorous as Fluffy tries to speak certain words.

All the Fluffimations in this CD are designed to create discussion between students and help them understand the concepts behind these familiar stories. Because students can keep changing their input into the Fluffimations, the results are always new. Young children will need help with creating the Fluffimations, but will enjoy hearing "their words" spoken by Fluffy.

After your journey, Fluffy can visit "DJ FLUFFY JAM" where your adventurer re-designs one of two familiar Christmas hymns with new lyric choices and special sound effects (really fun and thought provoking). DJ Fluffy Jam is a musical way of re-expressing the story and creating an opportunity for discussion. They'll enjoy it AFTER the lesson too. View our DJ Fluffy Jam screenshot.

About Fluffy's Style and Technology... Fluffy and God's Amazing Christmas Advent-ure CD features hand-drawn cartoon style animation. Humor is a big part of God and Fluffy's relationship. Those of you familiar with our Prodigal Son CD will recognize the VOICE of GOD in our Fluffy CD --that of professional story-teller, Barry Weaver (God is a little bit country in Fluffy). Despite it's cute name, Fluffy CD has some pretty high-tech components in it. These include our Fluffimation text-to-speech reflection activities, and the way-too-fun DJ FLUFFY JAM. DJ FLUFFY JAM is a bit of code we had custom written just for this CD. It allows students to customize two popular Christmas hymns with new lyrics, sound FX and instruments. Notes for Teachers:
Discussion questions are salted throughout the content of this CD. The Fluffimation activities are meant to be discussed, and done over again. Fluffy & God's Amazing Christmas Advent-ure also includes SEVERAL printable learning activities for use in the classroom as a group or personal reflection onscreen. There's no way you can go through all of Fluffy in one classtime. There's just too much content, and too many activities. We designed it to be used in sections over a period of several classtimes, or one or two sections a year.

Older students will enjoy all Fluffy's content, sense of humor, and can dig deeper into the background and meaning of Advent using Fluffy's deeper learning areas and activities. For example, the PROPHETS section has a '101' level and a '201' level. '201' material is not narrated and deals more about the concept of what a prophet is and isn't. In the MAGI section, the deeper content ponders "what was the star of Bethlehem" and what signs God might give us to his presence.
