"We have a remarkable group of volunteers who teach in our computer lab. They are enthusiastic and willing to go the extra mile. Each week they are welcomed with smiling faces and wondering eyes as the children come in." -Deb Locke, Collier UMC |

Sugar Land's computer lab is called "The Cave Connection." The room's walls and ceiling are painted to look like the rock walls of a cave. |
Wendy Sempf (right) has been teaching in her lab since the 90's. In this picture she mentions to "notice the student on the right more interested in the lesson than the camera." Wendy noted that reducing the size of their lab and the number of students attending at one time really improved the teaching situation. |

This photo deserves special mention for the teachers seen seated at each station. Count them...1, 2, 3. Wonderful! |
There's this perception that computers are "boy thing" but you'll see plenty of girls smiling in labs too. St. James' Church was a high finisher for that reason. |

St. Olaf's "Space Theme" filled their entire room. Planets hang from the ceiling. And a teen helps teach. Awesome.

Transfiguration wrote: "Four months in and WE LOVE OUR LAB. More to the point, the kids do, and it’s amazing to see and hear how the content ‘sticks’. And it’s the destination of choice before and after church to play and work together on previous content. Our most recent rotation included parents and grandparents – at one point I think there were 10 people in our tiny little lab, all having a blast playing 'Eucharist Jeopardy.'”

Special
Mention: Rosalyn Hannaford at the Enfield Church
in Adelaide Australia sent us pictures of her lab being used to teach the
children of Sudanese Refugees. She wrote, "Many of the young people
have been in Refugee Camps, sometimes for many years in various
places in Africa after the persecuted families have escaped from the
Sudan. In our experience they have been greatly helped in their
Christianity by the Catholic Church in the camps, and the families
are keen to keep the connection in a local church when they arrive
here."
