Year 2000 Contest Winners
"Best photo of kids with computers in a Christian education setting."

First Place Photo Winner...

"One of the boys had a sleepover Saturday night and brought in five of his friends to the Sunday School computer class. None had ever been to our church and they did just great."

submitted by Dave Kendrick, Fellowship Reformed Church, Muskegon MI.

Judges Note: This photo caught our eye not only because this is a handsome bunch of guys, but because it tells the story of the computer as a tool for evangelism, -particularly boys -who are often hard to attract to Sunday School at this age. It tells the story of one student proud enough of his Sunday School to invite five (!) of his friends. That takes guts, and it takes a good Sunday School!

Year 2000 "Best photo depicting creative computer lab decor"

First Prize:St. John's Presbyterian, Houston Texas, submitted by Pam Tedeschi

"The Universe Computer Lab" -rich blue walls with wispy clouds, giant world map and CD 'planets & stars' hanging from ceiling (only some of which are shown here). Even the furniture is nice.

Judges Note: We doubt these photo scans will fully depict the deep rich blue and green color scheme. What a nice looking room. A second picture submitted by Pam showed how the motif ran around the room with a discussion area in the center. Well done! (Info on where to get the map at bottom of this page.)The map can be purchased from the Hammacher catalog http://www.hammacher.com/)

Second Prize: Spirit of Hope United Methodist, Golden Valley Minnesota, submitted by Todd Wallin

Wall covered with CDs spelling J-e-s-u-s if you look 'just so.'

Judges Note: Neil MacQueen has seen this wall display in person. This photo doesn't do it service. The CDs shine and sparkle. They are fixed with tacky putty.
