Tips & Navigational Notes for
Christian ClickArt CDs
This page's tips apply to both, and most clipart CDs. You work pretty much the same way with any
clipart CD to bring an image from the CD into a document.
If this is all new to you, ask someone to walk you through it. It's not hard if you have someone there helping you. BIG TIP:
Most of the time you will want to CHANGE your FOLDER VIEW OPTION in Word (or whatever program you are using to insert the graphics) so that you can SEE the thumbnail images of the CD, rather than just see their filenames. To see the thumbnail images of each clipart file, you will need to set your FOLDER VIEW OPTIONS TO "THUMBNAIL" or "ICON" (instead of "list" or "detail"). In the upper right corner of your Open File Dialog box (or any folder), there's a folder view icon you can click to open and select viewing options. Here's a helpful graphic showing a document open in Word, and the steps involved in inserting the graphic and changing the Folder View option. Your options make look slightly different depending on which version of Word you are using, what operating system you have.
MORE TIPS on WORKING WITH THE CDS AND IMAGES You do not "install" the clipart. Rather, you browse it from within your Wordprocessor, ...using your Wordprocessors "insert" command. For easy retrieval of frequently used images, YOU CAN COPY the images from the CDs into a "favorites folder" of your own making, so that you don't have to handle the CDs. As you browse the CDs, you will likely see other images you think you can use someday. Copy those into your folder as well. You can simply CLICK & DRAG any image on the CD into a Favorites Folder on your desktop. Tech Note: In the older 2 CD collection known as Christian Clickart Deluxe, the first time you put CD1 into your CD drive, it will try to install a utility program. This utility is unneeded and will not run in XP/Vista/W7. Cancel out and it won't bother you again.
