Overview:
Interactive Parables is a collection of quizzes you play in a 3d Maze. You select from 24 Jesus parables to be quizzed about, and you also get to select the style of 3D MAZE to play in (over a dozen maze choices). In order to win the game, you must find your way through the game maze and answer questions correctly about the parable. The questions appear as multiple choice text and True/False.

Details:
You begin by reading the Bible story, then you enter a maze of rooms. Each room is filled with pop-up questions to answer, things to jump, run from and otherwise avoid, plus game objectives to complete,  and bonus points to claim. Challenges include chasms and barrels to jump, power-up stars to collect, and traps to avoid. Nothing scary! Just challenging and fun.

In each game you'll meet "Mr. Green Jeans" (pictured right) -a young lad who is confused about the story. You must answer his questions with the correct response in order to receive gems that allow you to complete the level. Maps and inventories of each level are at your fingertips.

Important "Lesson Time" notes:
Each game takes upwards of 45 minutes to complete --depending on how good you are at playing the game. The mazes and game play aren't hard, but they are challenging, require plenty of time to play, and you may run out of turns and have to go back to your last saved location. And keep this in mind too: the less they know about the story, the more time it will take to complete the quizzes. The typical young player (or adult) will need several attempts and restarts to get through each quiz's game levels. And that doesn't leave much time for Bible study and discussion (which our typical customer would want to add). Thus, the game probably doesn't fit in the typical lesson timeslot, especially if you need to wrap some study and discussion around the software use. Sharp gamer teens can complete a game in 30-40 minutes, but our testing and customer feedback indicates ages 10-12 will need more time.

Having said this... IP is a good resource for LESSON REVIEW if you have plenty of TIME to use it. This is a nice game for “after the lesson,” unstructured game time, or home use. Adults will enjoy this game too!  I did. <>< Neil

Ages 10 and up. Requires reading ability and knowledge of the stories to complete. Some third graders might do fine with it, but need plenty of time to complete each quiz game. Scriptures are in an easy to read version. The challenging 3D gameplay makes pre-teens and teens the logical audience for this game. Quiz questions ask both about facts and meanings in the stories. Some selectable level styles are harder than others (which will help your gamers feel challenged).
