There are two versions. Check the CD's label to see which version you have.

Version 1.0 is nearly identical to 1.1. Version 1.1 has some technical tweaks, typo corrections and we added a game menu under the Options button to jump straight to all the games.

Version 1.0 Tech Notes

If you get a "Member not found" error msg, or some menu buttons don't work (or you get an error message of any sort) you need to install a free updated version of Flash Player to your system. (In version 1.1 of Elijah-Jonah we put it a Flash Player for Windows in a folder on the CD for you. If you have a Mac, see the link below). If you can't find it, or have version 1.0, you can download the free Flash Player from Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115.0 for Windows (Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape & Opera) This is the small version of the Flash Player and will even fit on a diskette. If the link doesn't work search  their site for "Flash Player" or Google it. You can also download the mucgh larger version of the Flash Player directly from Adobe/Macromedia at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html. Pick the Flash download for your operating system. Once downloaded, put it in your computer and double-click the flashplayer executable file on the diskette. It will take care of the rest.  Version 1.1 is listed on both the jewelcase and CD. Note: A printing mistake on one small run of the CDs says "2.0" ...it's supposed to be 1.1.    If you have a MAC, you may need to go to macromedia.com and download the Mac version of the Flash player.

If you get a missing export OLEAUT32.DLL file, it means you are using an old UN-updated version of Windows 98. Go to Microsoft.com and download the DCOM for Windows 98 v1.3 files (search their download site).

If you get a "MDM Zinc V2 Error" msg it means you have Windows 98 and need to download DirectX 8.1 for Windows 98/Me to update your system.

Mac OS X Installation Notes

You must drag both the HQX and Source folders into a folder on your desktop to start the program. If you drag only the HQX file over, the menus won't work. In one release of the CD, the readme file erroneously calls it a 'zip' file and only mentions the HQX file. Create a folder and drag both files into it.

Be careful naming your folder. Call it ElijahJonah. Do not use illegal folder characters such as "Elijah & Jonah".

If you have a Mac with an INTEL processor and cannot get E&J v 1.1 to work, contact us for an update.

To install E & J CD v1.1 on OS X with a Mac chip, you must drag the hqx file (which OSX will show you is on the CD) to your desktop or any appropriate folder, then unzip it there. If you try to unzip it before you drag it to a folder, it will tell you it can't "unarchive".

MISSING HQX file ?  A small run of E&J CDs made in Feb 07 are missing the HQX file.  Email us for a replacement disc.

E & J CD will not work on Mac OS 9.

Vista Notes for Versions 1.0 and 1.1

Weirdness and the workaround...

Immediately after installing, the game will run after you click "finish" on the installation panel. But... the game will not start from the Desktop icon in either version 1.0 or 1.1 in Vista unless you make the following TWEAK. Permanent fix coming soon. Subscribe to our free email newsletter where it will be announced: www.sundaysoftware.com/subscribe.htm

After installation.... RIGHT CLICK the E&J Desktop icon and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". That will allow the program to run in Vista. (Why? We're not sure yet, but it works.)

Now, after you exit the program, Vista will tell you it has stopped working properly. We don't know as of yet "why" but are looking into it. May be a Vista tweak we need to look into.
